Awards will be presented in more than 40 categories of excellence in jazz performance and documentation ; professional JJA members are now voting to choose the winners from among nominees named last month. New A Team" members-- advocates, activists, altruists, aiders and abettors of jazz"-- will also be introduced at the ceremonies to be hosted by Terrance McKnight of New York City's WQXR-FM.
At this year's gala --in contrast to previous years-- all awards will be announced and presented before the start of the reception and musical performances in honor of the award winners. Two types of tickets --one for admission to the awards presentation and the reception, the other for admission to the reception only are on sale at Acteva.com's secure site.
