The popular annual Winter Jazz Festival will start in the capital on Wednesday, Radio VOP can reveal. The annual bash had been postponed due to the presidential run-off between President Robert Mugabe and MDC leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, which was finally held last month on June 27. The Winter Jazz Festival will begin in Harare on Wednesday and end on Saturday at various venues in the capital city.

It will be officially opened on Friday at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) where top artists, including Oliver Mtukudzi, and an Ivory Coast musician still to be named, will perform. The organizer is Josh Hozheri, who runs Jazz 105 in the capital.

Several local and international musicians are expected to attend the top bash. Some fans are also expected from Botswana, Zambia and South Africa.

Tickets for the show go on sale on Tuesday, the organisers said.
