Ashton Fletcher holds a Bachelor's Degree from the Peabody Conservatory and a Master's Degree from Morgan State University. He is also the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Fellowship. In 1986 he performed on the international television spectacular, “Liberty Weekend." Ashton also played in the orchestra for the “Inaugural Gala" for the inauguration of President Bush which was an international television broadcast. On October 14, in celebration of Columbus Day, The Ashton Fletcher Trio will perform Columbus DayItalian American Night, a show dedicated to famous Italian American performers, including Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Dean Martin.

On October 28, the Cabaret at Germanos and The Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African-American History and Culture will present A Tribute to Ruby Glover, Baltimores Godmother of Jazz and a personal friend of the Fabiani family, owners of Germanos. Ashton Fletcher and pianist, Charlie Edsel, who both performed with Ms. Glover for many years, have composed a musical program of arrangements sung by Ms. Glover. An oral history and photographs will be on display and excerpts of a video of an interview of Ms. Glover conducted at Germanos by Alessandra Fabiani, a student at The Baltimore School for the Arts, on May 24, 2007, five months before the great stars death, will be screened.

The Cabaret at Germanos is a unique venue. Celebrating its thirtieth year as the first and only Tuscan trattoria in Baltimore, Germanos has outfitted its beautiful upstairs dining room with a piano, stage lights and sound system and the acoustics are perfect. A smaller but more comfortable and affordable version of Feinsteins in New York City, the Cabarets mission is to promote and support the arts by providing a casual and intimate venue in which local, regional and emerging artists can interact with the audience. Germanos also welcomes to Baltimore performers from outside the area who desire to contribute to Baltimores thriving arts community.

Along with Jazz at Germanos on Tuesday nights, Germanos hosts Cabaret at Germanos every Thursday and Theatre at Germanos, beginning on October 1st, as Artistic Director Donald Kennedy and his resident company present, “The Ruzante Project" -- an original exploration of the dramatic works of the innovative and influential 16th century Italian comedic writer, Ruzante, in six parts, on Wednesday, Oct. 1, Oct. 15, Oct. 30, Nov. 12, Dec. 3 and Dec. 17. Germanos is proud to be designated a cultural partner by the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance.

At Germanos we are committed to the creative process. From the culinary arts to the visual and the performing arts, creativity nurtures the soul and defines who we are.

Cyd Wolf and Germano Fabiani, proprietors of Germanos.
