EMI Music is establishing a second Music City-based label, EMI Records Nashville.

First act signed to the new imprint is Arizona-bred singer-songwriter Troy Olsen, who has crafted hits for stars Tim McGraw and Blake Shelton.

Executive team is to be announced, though Capitol Nashville promotion director Angela Lange has been named vp of promotion at the new arm. Execs will report to Capitol Nashville president/chief operation officer Mike Dungan.

Dungan said in a statement, “Establishing EMI Records Nashville is part of our growth strategy and a way to provide artists a terrific creative home and a top notch, dedicated team to help build their careers,"

Capitol Nashville's country roster has been on a roll. Hot trio Lady Antebellum's sophomore album “Need You Now" debuted at No. 1 in early in early February, and returned to that slot on the U.S. album chart last week; title has sold 1.2 million units to date. Group's first set has sold 1.5 million to date.

The label's roster also includes top stars Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley, former Hootie & the Blowfish vocalist Darius Rucker and singer-songwriters Luke Bryan and Eric Church.
