From Blues to Bebop, Spirituals to Swing...
Please join Bill Cosby, Danny Glover & Gil Noble with over 80 legendary performers at the World Famous Apollo Theater.
From the Mardi Gras Indian Chiefs to Ella, from African drums to Roy Haynes, from Henry Butler to Junior Mance, from Louis Armstrong to Arturo O'Farrill, from Duke Ellington to Dizzy, from the most famous to the unknown ...like 86 year old Chicago blues queen, Johnnie Mae Dunson who wrote tunes for Elvis Presley, Muddy Waters and Jimmy Reed, and will tear the roof off the Apollo performing with famous surprise guests of Rock 'N Roll fame.
A Timeline of this original American art form will be presented in one concert.
And in the process, you will be helping to save hundreds of elder jazz and blues musicians in crisis, keeping them from eviction and homelessness, as well as saving the displaced musicians of New Orleans, putting hundreds back to work performing in public schools in nine states where they were forced to settle.
The Jazz Foundation has also housed hundreds of New Orleans musicians
Assisted over 3000 emergency musician cases since Katrina
As well as, we secured over $250,000 in new top shelf brass instruments donated by the manufacturers themselves, to the most beloved senior and junior musicians of New Orleans.
