Ramon Diaz
The Ramón Díaz Group has been performing for more than 20 years and has six CDs to its name, four of them with the prestigious Fresh Sound New Talent record label. The first three (”Pues sí“, “O si no, Que?" and “ Sketches“) were recorded as a quartet, with two saxophones, double bass and drums. These are followed by two quintet albums, and a last one in trio format. The fourth CD "Diàleg" was very well received by national and international critics (All About Jazz, Village Voice, Jazz Special, Jazz Hot, Jazz Magazine, Tomajazz, Apolo y Baco), and received the award for Best Record of 2006 and Best Group of 2006 by the Association of Jazz Musicians and Modern Music of Catalonia. Later they recorded their fifth album "Unblocking" which was released at the beginning of 2008 and also received good national and international reviews (All About Jazz) followed by a sixth album as a trio "Bumpy Road" with which they were selected by the SGAE for "JazzEñe 2017".
This new quartet formation, titled "CONVERSATIONS WITH CHOPIN", consists of:
