Album Description

"Reencontro" arose from a genuine desire to reconnect with my roots and the various musical influences that have merged inside myself helping me shape my artistic voice. It is an homage to Brazilian music and its traditions, but especially to the great composer of Choros, Pixinguinha. Choro music has always been present in my life and among my earliest childhood memories, I can still recall melodies such as "1x0" and "Rosa” beautifully interpreted by my father’s flute. Tango music, on the other hand, came to me through my Grandmother who taught me the beauty and passion that entails dancing this music. Thus, in “Naquele Tempo/Por una Cabeza”, we tried to create a Choro-Tango hybrid, that would illustrate the contrast between two musically very strong cities: Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires.
