Album Description

Daphna Sadeh continues her acclaimed embrace of genre-defying music with EP Magic of the Moment. She is joined by an eclectic and highly accomplished ensemble of performers, for four tracks of spoken word, captivating song, and creative musicianship. This is a jazz fusion that floats over geographic borders and laps up stylistic influences. For the first time we hear Sadeh's own voice as a poet, as well as in the more familiar roles of composer and bassist. The philosophical lyrics also include a 12th century poem by Rumi, words by Zohar Neu, and collaboration with Patricia Lashley-Charles. In words and in music, this is an evocative exploration of nature, time, light and dark, and worldly, human existence. It is haunting and comforting, familiar and new, grounded and etherial. Daphna Sadeh trained in New York and has been based in the UK since 2002. Previous releases include a solo album, Out Of Border; two albums from Daphna Sadeh & the Voyagers, Walking the Thin Line and Reconciliation, commissioned by John Zorn/Tzadik; and genre-bending piece Born In Parallel, featuring jazz, world and baroque musicians, recorded live in All Saints Church, London
