Album Description
BRØK is a contemporary jazz quartet. As an organism they explore relation and disproportion within music. BRØK is the danish term for fraction, which is a mathematic term describing a numerator in relation to a denominator. Together these two describes an extremely accurate sum. BRØK explores their original compositions through improvisation, unison melodies and acoustic- & electronic sound, with a unique approach towards sound design and timbre. This makes for an experimental but somehow familiar sound. In creating their artwork, BRØK decided to use the symbol theta [ θ ]. The theta symbol describes, a specific waveform, that the brain makes while dreaming or learning. This is what BRØK strives to do at all times; to constantly dream and learn. Even while preforming the process is always open, and all forthcoming ideas will be part of the organic flow of the music.
