Album Description
Debut album “Beauty in Chaos” by the Alexandra Ivanova Trio deals with the theme of having many homes and looking for belonging through music. As an Austrian child to Bulgarian immigrants, Alexandra's life has been uprooted and her soul searching for a link to the Eastern-ness in her cultural heritage despite a Western upbringing. Her debut album captures this quest for Eastern-ness through arranged melodies from Azerbaidjan, Iceland or Arabic classical music. Her compositions celebrate the universally human and grieve the absence of people and places of home.
