Album Description
An Icelander at Uluwatu Temple The album An Icelander at Uluwatu Temple contains the works of Stefán S. Stefánsson for big band, performed by the Icelandic Reykjavik Big Band. This album is number two in the “Icelander” trilogy, whereas number one was the album “An Icelander at Alhambra Palace”, which won the Icelandic Music Award 2015. The album's title has its roots in Stefan’s travels to Indonesia, where you can find the wonderful Uluwatu temple on the edge of a cliff, on the beautiful coast of the Indian Ocean. Most of the works are new, but there are also some older works that Stefán rewrote for this edition. The excellent performance of members of the Reykjavik Big Band and the high-quality recordings of Hafþór Karlsson gave this the life it needed and here is the result. The album can be found here in a link, but it can also be accessed on all the main streaming sites of the World Wide Web. In Stefan’s words: “This is one of those big projects you take on. Sending these compositions to the internet is like sending your children out into life. I sincerely hope that these tunes and rhythms bring joy to someone's soul... that was the point of all this. Enjoy.”
