Updates to Your AAJ Profile Page

You can now embed YouTube videos, link to your MySpace and Facebook pages, and select favorites based on your personal preferences. We also provide a handy link to your Musician Center profiles. If you live in the United States, please enter your zip code so we can regionalize your news and calendar.

There are other fields to fill in like your bio, desert island picks, your favorite websites, and other pieces of helpful and fun information. Please make sure your profile is current and complete.

Access your profile page by clicking the "Your Profile" link in the MY AAJ box. If you're not logged in, please log in. If you're not a MY AAJ member, sign up now.

The Wiki Side of AAJ - Join the Fun!

jazz wiki All About Jazz offers wiki-like functionality at our Musician Center and in our Guides directory. This means that jazz enthusiasts around the globe (like you!) can collaborate on and help create and maintain musician profiles and add/update venues, festivals, radio stations, record labels and more.

No specialized qualifications are necessary to become an editor—just a love for jazz and eye for detail.

Want to maintain Pat Metheny, Wynton Marsalis or Keith Jarrett's profiles? MY AAJ members can claim editorial access to a musician's profile by clicking the "Become a profile editor" link at the bottom of a profile page. MY AAJ members can also create new profiles from scratch.

AAJ is growing rapidly and we're looking for support from the jazz community to help us maintain our content while we continue to develop new technologies for the site. A healthy and growing AAJ is good for jazz, so if you're looking to get involved, please fill out this form.

Best of 2007

All About Jazz solicited opinions from all active AAJ contributors, and out of more than 1,000 nominations, Maria Schneider Orchestra's Sky Blue, the late Michael Brecker's Pilgrimage and David Torn's Prezens received the most votes.

Adding Local Venues

Our goal is to build the most comprehensive venue directory on the web for everyone to enjoy, and you can help. Please click the Venues link in the JAZZ NEAR YOU box on the left panel of the each AAJ page. Enter you zip and display the results. If a local venue is missing, please add it.

As mentioned above, All About Jazz is a lot like Wikipedia, where readers can help manage content. We'd appreciate your help at the local level.

Place our Jazz Birthday Box on your Website or Blog!

You can now celebrate jazz birthdays at your website with AAJ's new jazz birthday content box.

Just like our other free content boxes (download of the day, news, reviews and articles), you can now place today's jazz birthdays on your website or blog.

Go to our Live Content page and learn how you can add the daily jazz birthday box to your site. It looks particularly handsome on a jazz radio station home page.

Editorial Calendar: What's Coming Soon?

You can now view All About Jazz's upcoming article and CD review release schedule by visiting our new Editorial Calendar page. Get a glimpse up to 30 days out and see what's on our immediate editorial horizon.

This page is accessible to MY AAJ members only. If you're not a registered member, please sign up so you can take advantage of this free service.

Place AAJ Content on your MyYahoo and iGoogle page

Click the or Add to Google icons on our news, article or CD review pages and place the content on your MyYahoo or iGoogle home page.

Example...

Place all three AAJ content boxes on your My Yahoo home page or on your iGoogle home page.

Pump Up the (Interview) Volume!

Thanks to the herculean efforts of John Kelman, the interview center has become the hottest section at AAJ. We're now publishing two new interviews a week and plan to expand to three.

We've expanded the RECENT INTERVIEWS box on the home page to accommodate this increased volume and to make sure every artist receives proper exposure.

As always, we welcome your ideas and input.

Thanks for reading!

Michael Ricci
