Arthur Blythe e Bobby Bradford erano soliti suonare la musica più sublime nel garage di mia madre. Ero del tutto frastornato, e lo sono tuttora, per l'ardore di quella passione, di quei propositi e di quella spiritualità...

Questa musica, questi musicisti e quest'avvenimento sancirono in un attimo e in ogni dettaglio ciò che io avrei cercato di raggiungere per tutta la mia vita.
