Acknowledged in Jazz Times as, “A versatile, forwarding looking and accomplished performer", Michael began his professional career playing Latin Tropical music in Chicago’s inner city at age fifteen. He holds a M.M. in Jazz Pedagogy from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Music in Composition from DePaul University. He has been an instructor at Triton College since 2000 and has been a lecturer at DePaul University since 2003.
