Sonny Rollins: Sonny Rollins + 3
This recording is one of the best that Sonny Rollins produced and performed in a studio setting, and that is saying a mouthful. Sonny Rollins has been on the jazz scene for more than forty years. On this recording Sonny sounds as fresh as ever — stretching out and revisiting the theme on each composition with robust extemporaneous embellishment.

The sidemen for the setting features either Tommy Flanagan and Stephen Scott on piano, long time associate Bob Cranshaw on bass and either Jack DeJohnette or Al Foster on the drums. Two originals by Sonny titled 'Biji' and 'H.S' are vintage Rollins. A must for the serious collector.

Sonny Rollins - Tenor Saxophone, Stephen Scott - Piano, Bob Cranshaw - Electric Bass, Jack DeJohnette - Drums, Tommy Flanagan - Piano, Al Foster - Drums
