Nina Pedersen: Songs from the Top of the World
Programmaticamente intitolato Songs from the Top of the World, questo disco della cantante norvegese (ma residente in Italia da venti anni) Nina Pedersen non mancherà di sorprendere gli ascoltatori, almeno quelli italiani non usi alla lingua e alle atmosfere tradizionali nordiche.

Buona parte della scaletta è difatti composta di traditional della ricca tradizione scandinava a cui la Pedersen riesce a darge una veste moderna grazie all'apporto di un gruppo molto attento, in cui ha al suo fianco un'altro scandinavo, il chitarrista svedese Lutte Berg (anch'esso da tempo in Italia). La tromba sordinata di Aldo Bassi, o il violino di Carlo Cossu, o ancora le chitarre dai mille accenti di Berg, tutto contribuisce a proiettare la musica nella contemporaneità, a gettare un ponte fra passato e presente della musica e fra il Nord ed il Sud dell'Europa. In effetti, gli assoli dei sidemen contribuiscono molto alla riuscita del disco, breve ed intenso, comunicativo per chi gli presti attenzione.

Lei, bravissima, si ricollega alle sue radici, presenti fortemente nonostante i due decenni passati in Italia, in maniera sincera. La sua voce limpida, le storie che raccontano di amori e primavere aspettate dopo il lungo inverno, è di quelle che emoziona, pur con la barriera linguistica che rende il significato misterioso (se non fosse per le note di copertina ricco di spiegazioni).

Una musica di tale fattura lascia il segno. È così emozionalmente forte che va ascoltata in situazioni adeguate.
