Non inganni l'inizio sornione e ambientale, a partire da "Miles From Miles" si viaggia a pieno regime, grazie al virtuosismo dei giradischi che innescano felicissimi cortocircuiti: con la tecnica dello scratching Dj Quest evoca infatti frammenti di assolo, li reitera, li piega alle circostante, dispone timbricamente di mille risorse.
L'idea di utilizzare i giradischi come uno strumento racconta con grande varietà di esiti quanto i vinili (la memoria che conservano) siano uno strumento flessibile nell'ambito dei linguaggi afroamericani: siano essi fonte di campionamenti per le basi dell'hip-hop e del r&b, oppure, come in questo caso, archivi da combinare in tempo reale.
Registrato dal vivo a San Francisco, questo disco del progetto LiveHuman è perfetto per orecchie curiose.
