Sigi Finkel: Scenes & Places
Realizzato in completa solitudine, questo album vede il sassofonista tedesco Sigi Finkel impegnato anche con strumenti etnici e percussioni in quindici brani che, come suggerisce il titolo dell'album, ci portano attraverso vari luoghi e paesaggi sonori. Ci si muove tra occidente ed oriente, tra nord e sud del mondo. L'Eurpoa ed il jazz, ovviamente, ma anche il Medio Oriente, l'Africa, quello spazio musicale di confine che è il Flamenco.

Seppur non particolarmente originale, la musica proposta da Finkel è abbastanza interessante, ed i brani risultano ben strutturati. Come però accade sempre in questo genere di lavori, l'album soffre di un eccesso di loop e di premeditazione, che alla lunga stanca l'ascoltatore. Benchè il CD duri “solo” sessantatre minuti, l'ascolto consecutivo di tutte le quindici tracce ci pare impresa ardua.
