The Spanish Donkey: Raoul
Una tempesta di suoni, un incantesimo sonoro dai profili affilati e dal cuore elettrico. Ecco cosa è Raoul, ultimo nato in casa The Spanish Donkey, la formazione composta da Joe Morris, Jamie Saft e Mike Pride. Tre musicisti che ergono un muro sonoro che, sebbene non originalissimo, sa affascinare l'ascoltatore sensibile a quel filone della musica che gioca a flirtare col rumorismo, fino alle estreme conseguenze.

Gli Spanish Donkey non hanno remore nel battere questa strada, alla ricerca (forse) di una 'nuova cosa' che difficilmente si rischia di trovare da quelle parti, visti gli illustri precedenti e la carica innovativa ormai sbiadita della misura rumorista. Ma non è detto che a un buon disco debba sempre e comunque essere richiesto qualcosa di nuovo. Per questo ci sentiamo di promuovere le tre lunghe tracce pubblicate da RareNoiseRecords con buoni voti, trovando nei sapori vagamente Seventies della strumentazione scelta e delle sonorità adottate una marca distintiva e ben dosata.

Aggiungiamo che il trio sa controbilanciare l'inevitabile approccio cerebrale con una carica istintiva che sa elettricità e di primordi. Di senso basilare del ritmo, del rumore e della detonazione. Chiamatela psichedelia, free, oppure rock impazzito. La musica non cambierà. Tre tracce per un'ora e dieci di assalti sonori. Molti inferi, poche luci. Avanti chi se la sente.
