Simon Vincent

Dorian Wallace

Dorian Wallace is a composer, pianist, teacher, and activist whose work often explores socio political issues such as class consciousness, the unconscious experience, and is highly critical of authoritarianism, capitalism, dogmatism, censorship, and oppression. He is the co-founding artistic director of progressive and socially conscious new music collective Tenth Intervention, and bandleader of the improvisational septendectet The Free Sound Ahn-somble, both based in New York City. He has collaborated with artists such as Nicholas Finch, NouLou Chamber Players, Paul Pinto, Charlotte Mundy, Pamela Z, Frank London, Experiments In Opera, Ensemble Interactivo de La Habana - EIH, Composers Concordance, Periapsis Music and Dance, Robert Ashley, Seneca Black, Matt Marks, RIOULT Dance, Alison Cook Beatty Dance, Kensaku Shinohara, and John Sanborn. His work (individually and collectively) has been presented as a featured artist at National Sawdust, NPR's Science Friday, Rubin Museum of Art, The Greene Space at WNYC & WQXR, Pompidou Centre, Palais Jacques Coeur, The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Casa de las Américas La Habana, Cuba, Americas Society, New Music USA, Lower Manhattan Community Council, the Earle Brown Music Foundation, the Johnstone Fund for New Music, the Puffin Foundation, Caveat, New Music Gathering, Universidad de Costa Rica, Interlochen Public Radio, New York University’s Precarious Sounds // Sounding Sanctuary conference, and the 2018-19 Composer-in-residence with Exploring the Metropolis. Alex LoRe

Noted by Ben Ratliff of the New York Times as a saxophonist who is “…making the connections among about 70 years’ worth of contemplative, articulate and light-toned players”, Manhattan-based saxophonist and composer Alex LoRe is one of the most in demand alto saxophonists on the current New York City jazz scene. Internationally acclaimed saxophonist and educator Bunky Green says LoRe “…will emerge to become one of the leading voices on the international jazz scene.” Saxophonist George Garzone describes his playing as “bold and unforgiving”, with “…a beautiful sound; he understands the concept of melody.” With a strong upbringing in classical music, LoRe’s playing and compositions are influenced by many genres, ranging from European classical music through today’s most influential artists on both the jazz and popular music scenes. LoRe has been featured at venues such as New York City’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMa), the Jazz at Ravinia Festival held at the Stean’s Institute for Young Artists in Chicago, the Monterey Jazz Festival in California, and the Jacksonville and Clearwater Jazz Festivals in Florida, among others

Chris Lastovicka

Chris Lastovicka designs music dealing primarily with psychological and metaphysical subjects. Most of Lastovicka’s music can be loosely categorized as mystic minimalism. An excerpt from Lastovicka’s opera "Crossing the Horizon" was performed by New York City Opera at their VOX: Showcasing American Composers festival; the opera was also a finalist in OperaVista’s international chamber opera competition (Houston). Lastovicka’s music has been performed at the Boston Early Music Festival, Merce Cunningham Studio, and in Spoleto, Italy. Chris Lastovicka composed the original score for Robin Becker Dance’s "Into Sunlight", a work about the Vietnam War that has enjoyed performances internationally. Chris Lastovicka released their first album of chamber music "Fortune Has Turned" in 2005 on the Ahari Press label

Tomi Pekkola

Tomi Pekkola is an avant-garde-guitarist-composer from Hamina Finland. Along the years he has played in various types of groups with progressive or avant-garde ethos. Pekkola is a guitarist with a respect to the classics but his work is best described as a combination of contemporary classical & free improvisation with an attitude towards both meditative & explosive expression. Pekkola's main area in composition is at the time with his The Bull In a China Shop Quartet, a group on Bruce's Fingers label, but his work as a composer includes pieces for orchestra, chamber opera, chamber music vocal music & musics for different genres.

Daniel & Mikael Tjernberg

Daniel and Mikael started to write music together at an early age. The music soon became distinguished in its style, with the brothers blending different musical genres, such as orchestral classical, jazz and ambient, and making them interact in a musical context with a very personal musical mark. They became recording artists, writing for album releases as well as for film/TV and other medias.

Grzegorz Tarwid

Grzegorz Tarwid – pianist and composer. He gathered experience from many masters of Polish pianism: first from the veteran of traditional jazz Wojciech Kamiński, then Andrzej Jagodziński and Michał Tokaj. He moved then to Copenhagen to study and be inspired by the Danish free school: Jacob Anderskov and Carsten Dahl. He has also performed recently in Cologne, Germany where he played with Just Another Foundry trio and distinguished bassist, Robert Landfermann. He has toured with Zbigniew Namysłowski, Kazimierz Jonkisz, Albert Beger, but also with Maciej Obara and Tomasz Dąbrowski
