Mike Holober

Trained as a classical pianist and conductor, Mike Holober began his apprenticeship as a jazz pianist and composer after moving to New York City in 1986. He has released 5 recordings as a leader and can be heard on over 70 recordings as a sideman. He has also served as a producer and conductor for several recordings. Mike’s projects include “Mike Holober & Balancing Act,” an octet including voice, “The Gotham Jazz Orchestra,” and “The Mike Holober Quintet.” He also regularly performs in duo settings with artists such as trumpeter Marvin Stamm and tenor saxophonist Jason Rigby

Inspired by the wizardly jazz harmonies of TAKE 6 and, before them, The Hi-Lo's, the six men of Accent, all of them accomplished arrangers and instrumentalists in their own right, decided to take their love of close-harmony jazz singing - the denser and more intricate the better - as far as it could go. Accent is six singer/arrangers, all of whom have considerable musical careers in their home countries: Jean-Baptiste ("JB") Craipeau (France) - tenor 1; Simon Åkesson (Sweden) - tenor 2; Danny Fong (Canada) - tenor 3; Andrew Kesler (Canada) - tenor 4; James Rose (United Kingdom) - baritone; and Evan Sanders (USA) - bass

Justin Pierce

Saxophonist Justin Pierce began his musical career in the musically diverse region of the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast. After beginning saxophone studies at age 12, he developed a passion for music in the middle school jazz ensemble. Since that time, he has performed across the United States and internationally, earned degrees in both classical and jazz styles, and taught at the secondary and college levels. Justin currently serves as Assistant Professor of Instrumental Music at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, where he directs the jazz ensemble and touring band, in addition to teaching saxophone, clarinet, and improvisation lessons

Mike Spinrad

Mike Spinrad is a composer, arranger, drummer and percussionist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has composed the music for two released CDs under his own name, a jazz trio for "It's Morning" and a sextet for "Horns." He has played or recorded with Guido Fazio, Dan Parenti, Steve Webber, Mark Rossi, John Hettel, Richard Conway, Dann Zinn, David Enos, Cindy Browne, Steve Schuster, Brian Gary, Frank Sumares, Fred Zimmerman, Fred Ross-Perry, Kurt Huget, Curtis Long, David Margules, Jef Labes, Rita Glassman, Joe Kaline, Todd Gray, Jan Martinelli, John McClellen, and Don Turney
