Tenth World with Kevin Jones and Kelvin Sholar

Tenth World is a group formed by Kevin Jones and pianist/composer, Kelvin Sholar through a partnership created back in 1999 in New York City. Together Jones and Sholar formed a collective of young talented master musicians on the cusp of realizing a new and creative sound that combined the harmonic sensibilities of Jazz and Soul with the rhythms of the African Diaspora. The nucleus of Tenth World formed around Kelvin Sholar’s group Esoterica which was a quartet. Other members were added; Saxophonist Brian Horton, Drummer Jaimeo Brown, Trumpeter Kevin Louis and both Bassists Damon Warmack out of Detroit and Joshua David Barrett out of New Jersey worked interchangeably

Ludmil Krumov

Ludmil Krumov is a Bulgarian guitarist specializing in contemporary jazz and world fusion. His guitar style incorporates wide diversity of techniques such as sweep and alternate picking , rich articulation and dynamic phrasing. Technically fluent, he uses the entire neck of the instrument to play lines involving horizontal and vertical melodic approach, wide intervals and modal diversity in a virtuoso way without compromising musicality. His improvisations incorporate the language of bebop, modern jazz and blues spiced up with eastern European and Balkan ornamentation and complex additive rhythms

Ivan Mazuze

Ivan Mazuze is a Norway based composer, award winning saxophonist and world jazz artist of Mozambique origin. Mazuze initiated his studies in music at his home country Mozambique at the National Music School in 1987 with piano as first instrument. After 7 years of classical piano training Mazuze joined the woodwind section of the same school with jazz study approach with focus on improvisation. After finishing the basic elementary music school, Mazuze continued his studies at the Department of Jazz and Ethnomusicology at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Ivan Mazuze is Honors degree in jazz and composition studies and Masters graduate in ethnomusicology at University of Cape Town

Bex Burch

Bex Burch is percussionist specialising in the Dagaare xylophone or Gyil. Following a series of chance encounters and a keen interest in groove based music / minimalism Burch was invited to be the apprentice to master Ghanaian xylophonist Thomas Segkura and lived in Dagaare Ghana making and playing Gyilli for 3 years. On passing out of the apprenticeship, she was given the name ‘Vula Viel’, meaning Good is Good and shared the name with her own group on returning to UK. As a performer on percussion and Gyil, with Vula Viel Bex has performed in venues and festivals including Cafe OTO, Purcell Room Royal Festival Hall, and Latitude festival and released the acclaimed album Good is Good in 2015. January 25th 2019 sees the release of sophomore album, 'Do Not Be Afraid'

Michaela Rabitsch

Michaela Rabitsch, singer, composer and Austria’s only and top female jazz trumpet player is called a modern day female Chet Baker by the US magazine Jazzscene. Together with her ingenious partner, composer and incredible fluid guitarist Robert Pawlik, she co leads their quartet and duo. With „Gimme The Groove “, they present their 6th common studio release and celebrate their jubilee 20 years together on the road. The tunes root on the one hand in the melodic stiles of the Jazz tradition, like Hardbop, Swing, Modern Jazz, New Orleans Second Line and Blues, and, on the other hand, form fusions with elements of Indian, African or Latin American music

Giuseppe Paradiso

He was born in Santeramo in Colle (Bari, Italy) in 1983 and started his musical studies on drums at the age of six years old. In 2007, he graduated with full marks and honours from the Italian Conservatory “N. Piccinni” of Bari, in percussion instruments, studying with professor Beniamino Forestiere, who later dedicated a composition for solo marimba to Giuseppe Paradiso. At the conservatory he also had the opportunity to study mallets (marimba and vibraphone), besides his studies on drums; in 2003 he participated as a soloist at the “International Marimba Competition” at the Superior National Conservatory of Paris, one of the most prestigious mallet’s competition in the world, performing in front of a jury of top exponents

LehCats (Norbert and Karen Stachels’ last name spelled backwards) blends jazz, funk, R&B, Latin, and other world music styles that takes you on a unique journey using original compositions as the vehicle. This group of seven musicians was formed in August 2013 by Norbert and Daniel Gonzalez and was designed to showcase all original jazz compositions. These musicians tell a unique story with versatility, passion, discovery, and invention.

Maria Quintanilla, originally born in Lima, Peru, is a multi-award winning vocalist, composer, and producer based in the heart of New York City. Her insatiable curiosity has enabled her to perform and record in a wide spectrum of styles that range from classical to jazz, funk to pop, soul to latin. Despite her young age, Maria Quintanilla has toured all over Europe, North and South America, and has had the privilege of sharing the stage with award winning artists such as mentor Jon Faddis, John Benitez, Steve Turre and Tia Fuller, amongst others. She has been recognized as a performer with poise far beyond her years and with having an exceptional ear for raw vocal expression

Born in San Diego, California, multi-lingual jazz vocalist Allison Adams Tucker began singing before she could speak. Allison was raised by classically trained musical parents, and began performing in front of audiences at age 5. She studied piano, flute, violin, dance and voice from elementary school and holds a BA in Linguistics / Music Vocal Performance and an AA in Italian
