Mao Soné

Mao Soné is a professional trumpet player, pianist, composer, educator from Japan currently living in New York City, who has strongly developed an identifiable style merging Japanese traditional sounds and the other cultures, using jazz as a medium. He is known for his unorthodox approach to playing both the trumpet and the piano simultaneously. Born in Tokyo, Japan, Mao became a local musician in his hometown, Nagareyama, at the age of nine. At Berklee, Mao studied with Tiger Okoshi, Sean Jones, and Hal Crook, as well as Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, and Joe Lovano at the Global Jazz Institute

Bill McBirnie

Bill McBirnie is a jazz and Latin flute specialist based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He has studied with renowned American flutist, Samuel Baron, distinguished Canadian flutist and composer, Robert Aitken, as well as Cuban charanga legend, Richard Egues. Bill has also been solicited by no less than Sir James Galway to serve as his resident Jazz Flute Specialist at Sir James' official web site. Bill is well known for his outstanding technique. However, he is also recognized as an exceptional improviser (notably in the bebop, swing and Latin idioms) as demonstrated by his recordings as a sideman with Junior Mance, Irakere, Memo Acevedo and Emile-Claire Barlow

Andy Lutkoff has been performing in SW Florida for over 25 years. He has performed with many of SW Florida’s top musicians including Joe Delaney, Jay Heavilin, Kevin Mauldin, Trimble McCullough, Doug Kirschner, Mickey Basil, Dave Morgan, Michael Baer, Tim Goodman, Brad Brown, and David Sarchet. In addition to leading various trios and quartets with the musicians above, Andy has lead the groups Straight Ahead and Saxdance. Both groups have been featured at Lee County Alliance of the Arts as well as at many venues in SW Florida. Andy is originally from NYC, but grew up in Richmond, Virginia

Melvin Quinones

Melvin Quinones, also known as Melvin Llord, started studying saxophone by age 11, with the idea of someday playing in the local church's band. He never made it to that group, but that didn't discourage him from his passion for music. By the age of 15, he was recording music with local bands and slowly gaining popularity as one of the best sax players in western Puerto Rico. At 17, his talent was discovered by Andrew Ruiz, one of the most popular band directors in Puerto Rico, who quickly extended him an invitation to play with international Latin star Wilkins. Mason Andruskiewicz

After taking snare drum lessons as a kid, Mason renewed his passion for drumming while studying biomedical engineering at WPI in Worcester, Massachusetts. Soon after graduating, he found himself playing jazz gigs in Worcester and Boston. He began studying jazz drums with Dan MacDonald at Music Maker Studios in Brighton, MA. Mason takes inspiration from many great drummers across different genres of music. Some of his favorites are Steve Gadd, Idris Muhammad, and John Bonham.
