Lieven Venken

Raised in Belgium in an environment full of music, Lieven Venken began playing the violin at the age of four. Soon he expanded his training to include percussion, which, while he excelled as a vocalist and violinist, became his primary focus and love. Lieven then entered Belgium's "Lemmensinstuut", studying with world reknowned jazz drummer h Dré PALLEMAERTS. He graduted in '99 "cum laude". He also studied in Amsterdam with Kees CRANENBURG and with Billy HART (New York). Mike Lorenz

Mike Lorenz, guitarist/composer/educator, hails from Bethlehem, PA where he is a member of the music faculty at the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts. Since 2007, Mike has kept a busy schedule as a freelancing performer, leading his trio/quartet in performance up-and-down the Northeast Corridor. He has held a residency at Tired Hands Brewing Company in Ardmore, PA, recently rated the best brewery in PA and one of the top 50 breweries in the world, for 7 years. His first album, Of the Woods, was released in 2012 and features pianist Matt Mitchell, saxophonist Mike Cemprola, bassist Brian Howell, and drummer Matt Scarano

Kenta Shimakawa

Since age 15, Kenta Shimakawa has been chasing the exhilarating potential of improvised jazz. His compositions juxtapose that energy against the jarring timbres of modern metal, resulting in a unique sound that exudes intensity. Education & TinderGodz In 2014, Kenta moved to New York City to attend the New School for Jazz and Contemporary music. In addition to studying the sounds of M-Base and 20th century/chromatic harmony, he encountered a whole world of talented and upcoming guitarists. Inspired and determined to develop his own sound, Kenta sought the mentorship of accomplished visionaries such as Andy Milne, Kirk Nurock, and Nir Felder

Pete Coco

A mainstay on the New York Jazz Scene, bassist Pete Coco recently released his debut album as a leader, “Lined with a Groove,” which features drummer Matt Wilson and pianist Sullivan Fortner. The LP is an homage to his mentors and influences, with fresh arrangements of tunes by bassists including Ron Carter, Milt Hinton, Ray Brown, Charlie Haden, Paul Chambers and more.

Pete has performed with many jazz greats including Matt Wilson, Jane Monheit, Bucky Pizzarelli, Zach Brock, Melissa Aldana, Ken Peplowski, Harry Allen, Bruce Forman, Joel Weiskopf, Frank Vignola, Chuck Redd, and Warren Vache, among others

Modern jazz group SIMIO's members are young, yet tell an ever-changing story with virtuosity and maturity. The music is melodic and lyrical, sitting on the edge between improvisation and composition. With a cinematic experience, the audience sits in close during our performance; “I got carried away in a flow I didn’t want to get out of”. After the release of their debut EP Delusional, which got picked up very fast by national radio programs, producers, fellow musicians, record labels and magazines a.o in the US, their second EP A New Path shows their growth. Playing style has developed aswel as vision, which affects composition.

Dave Howard

David Howard (Guitarist / Composer / Arranger / Educator) performs throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. He is a sensitive and exciting musician influenced by many great jazz, blues and funk artists. David Howard is a Professor at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He's a guitarist, composer, arranger and leader on many recordings including "Souvenirs" featuring Kenwood Dennard. "Clouds", "Almost Carefree", and "Block Island Summer" with the Joe Parillo Ensemble, and "Autumn Leaves" with Dave Rasmussen Jazz Orchestra. Dave has Performed tours and clinics in Europe, and has worked as a Composer and Performer on various jingles

David Howard

Igor Gehenot

The pianist Igor Gehenot started classical piano studies from an early age. At 13 he enters the jazz section of the royal academy of Liège and at 19 the conservatory of Maastricht. He enters the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in 2009 for two years, where he studies among others with Eric Legnini, and starts his own trio with Sam Gerstmans on double bass and drummer Teun Verbruggen. The trio led by Igor Gehenot won the Sabam’s youth jazz award in 2011. The recognition was justified. The pianist, born in 1989, has progressively established himself as a major talent on the Belgian and European scenes. After recording the first album «Road Story» (Igloo New talents, 2012), Igor toured extensively in Belgium and elsewhere (Jazz A Vienne, Mexico Festival…). In 2014, he presented the new album «Motion», still featuring Verbruggen on drums but with Philippe Aerts as the new partner on double bass

Leonisa Ardizzone

A Constellation in the East. This was how I described the Reverend Dr. Leonisa Ardizzone when introduced to her music a decade ago. Her creative process had a smart edge to it, revealing a fertile mind and expansive interest. Completely omnivorous in intellectual, social, and cultural pursuits, nature pulled her in a variety of directions, each deftly conquered by her and then readily expanded upon. She has had a variety of avocations: biologist, science educator, and finally a doctorate in International Peace Education. Teaching and sharing are the durable threads that pass through Ardizzone’s rich life and life philosophy. Ardizzone veritably emerged into life with Puccini on her lips
