Omer Ashano is an award-winning Israeli Jazz and cross-genre violinist currently residing in New York City, USA. Omer Ashano began playing classical violin at the age of six where he studied under local teachers in the town where he grew up. At the age of 13 he switched to guitar through which he got exposed to Blues, Jazz and the possibilities of improvisation. At the age of 15 Omer decided to take the skills and concepts he learned through Guitar about improvisation and develop them on the Violin in addition to the explorations of eclectic violin playing styles from Indian, Bluegrass, Celtic and Klezmer music
