TOM HAMILTON Woodwinds Baritone, Tenor, Alto & Soprano Saxophones Clarinet, Flute, Piccolo BIOGRAPHY Mr. Hamilton attended Glassboro State College, Glassboro, NJ; was graduated with Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from William Patterson, Wayne, NJ and in Music Education from Marywood University, Scranton, PA. He has performed and toured extensively with the Phil Woods Big Band, the Machito Orchstra (original Cuban and salsa band), "Dizzy" Gillespie, Tito Puentes, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Louis Belson Big Band, Natalie Cole, and the Clarence Spady Blues Band. Tom conducts workshops in high schools and colleges and has taught privately for over 30 years

I am a Latin percussionist specialty congas styles include, Afro-Cuban, Salsa, Latin Jazz, Big Band which requires Latin percussive styles. Instruments congas, bongos, Timbales, Afro Cuban Bata style, Brazilian percussive pandeiro,casaba, and other minor instruments. Since my background Puerto Rican I also play Bomba, Plena Folkloric styles. Have pounding the skins since early sixties have played NYC seen,and local tri-state areas. I moved to Pennsylvania in late 80's. Still performing my latest endeavor was recording with Rich Hirsch and the Big Ol' Band on Pocono Git -Down CD.

Paul Kendall

Born: February 3, 1961

Paul Kendall started on clarinet in the 4th grade in New York public school. When the 9th grade band director asked who would play baritone sax, he volunteered. Paul entered college as a baritone saxophonist, but added flute, tenor, and alto sax there. Shortly after college, he was a member of the big bands of Ken McIntyre and Charli Persip on baritone. He began leading jazz groups in venues including Birdland, The Angry Squire, and Cleopatra's Needle in Manhattan, on tenor saxophone. In 2004, Paul relocated to Eastern PA, where he is a member of The Skip Wilkins Quintet, The Tony Gairo/Gary Rissmiller Big Band, and Mark Hamza's Great Swamp Blues Band

"I was born in Sacramento, CA" (William Allen Mays) Feb. 5, 1944. "There was always music in our home. My dad, Bill Sr., was a minister, and played the piano, organ, trombone, guitar and harmonica, so gospel music was the first music I heard. My mom, Martha, a homemaker, had a beautiful, very natural, voice and I have vivid memories of him playing the accordion while she sang. Dad's trombone was an old, silver valved one. I loved that sound—it’s probably the reason I took up the baritone horn and trumpet in junior high school. We had a spinet piano, a Baldwin Acrosonic, and I was at it from a very early age.
