MUSICIAN Born:

Hilary Noble

Hilary Noble is woodwind player, Afro-Latin percussionist, composer and music educator living in the Boston area. He has performed all over the U.S, Europe, and in Puerto Rico. His music has been played on radio stations internationally and featured prominently on local programs such as WGBH’s “Eric in the Evening”, on which he has performed live with his band Enclave. In 2008 Enclave received a grant from Chamber Music America to compose an Afro-Cuban jazz suite: the resulting work was premiered live on WGBH and at the Jazz Gallery in New York City. Artists Hilary Noble has played and recorded with include Bobby Sanabria’s Ascención, Esperanza Spalding, John Santos, Ray Vega, Chris Washburne, Charles Neville, Bo Diddley, Eric Krasno, Entrain, Max Creek, Bob Moses, Robin Kenyatta, Clifford Thornton, and Alvin Queen.

Lenny Keys

Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Lenny started studying classical piano at the age of six. In 1979, Lenny immigrated with his family to the U.S., settling in New York where he started learning jazz. Influenced by his classical education, classic rock, European pop music, jazz and new age, Lenny developed his own unique style of writing. In April 2009, Lenny released his first jazz album, Diamonds and Emeralds. The tunes on the album are a blend of contemporary jazz, funk and blues, with a touch of fusion and distinct sweet melodies. Having composed in different styles, Lenny has always stayed true to one thing that he believes every song should have - a beautiful melody.

MUSICIAN Born:

Manoel Cruz

Bassist, composer, arranger and producer. The development of an authorial work was natural to Manoel Cruz. The experience gained as sideman of several artists of the most varied styles of Brazilian music is translated into his instrumental compositions with a regional accent: from baião to samba, from maracatu to forró, combining technique with improvisation freedom provided by comtemporary Jazz. Such fusion resulted in the following CDs: Alcatéia (2002) and Under My Soul (2012) also on DVD recorded live at Humbouldt Theater - SP. Manoel Cruz presented himself in Concert Houses and Festivals all over the country. In 2013 he was invited to perform at the closing of the XIV Santo Domingo Jazz Festival in the Dominican Republic, being the first Brazilian Artist to participate in the festival in its 14 years of existence
