Ted Piltzecker

Ted Piltzecker has performed at festivals throughout the US and around the globe. His five albums as a leader have been critically acclaimed and influential in both the percussion and jazz worlds. The current release “Brindica” reflects his recent four-month venture around the world. It was recorded in New York and in Buenos Aires, and evokes musical encounters in Iceland, India, Nepal, and Bali. "Piltzecker writes and arranges tunes that draw on tango, second-line, Afro-Cuban, South African, and even carnatic influences, always in an organic, fun, and respectful way. The result is a stylistic kaleidoscope of an album that reveals new combinations of rhythm and harmony at every turn and always sparkes with wit and good humor." The New Standards

What are The New Standards about? They are about Music, about Town, about Play, about soul, about fun... Started in 2005 as an off-shoot project between Minneapolis based musicians and friends Chan Poling (piano), Steve Roehm (vibes) and John Munson (bass), TNS has grown into a globe-spanning adventure, filling theaters and clubs around the world, spawning several CDs, videos, cartoons, dance/theater projects, and ancillary gewgaws that have charmed and delighted an ever-multiplying legion of faithful fans. The three core members of The New Standards all come from illustrious Twin Cities bands

Vincent Houdijk

Vincent Houdijk is one of the most versatile music artists in The Netherlands with an average of between 100 and 150 concerts annually. The combination of his classical and jazz studies gave him an incredibly open and wide view on music which. always open for all kinds of music collaborations and styles Vincent Houdijk is without doubt a very open and even so spiritually minded music artist and teacher. In 2007 vincent created his band VinnieVibes; an intense, dynamic and irresistible band which is highly appreciated by their fans and many music programmers. This year Vincent Houdijk & VinnieVibes performed at the world famous North Sea Jazz Festival and they recorded their third album there during this live performance

Brittany Anjou

Brittany Anjou is an American composer, vocalist, and piano focused multi-instrumentalist based in New York City. Exploring everything from Ahmad Jamal to Bikini Kill in her repertoire, this creative, versatile, and virtuoso performer hails from Seattle. Starting from the age of twelve Brittany has performed in award winning jazz ensembles throughout the U.S.A. and Europe. She has had the opportunity to perform with people such as Wynton Marsalis, Ernestine Anderson, Clark Terry, and Elysian Fields. As a young woman she continued jazz and philosophy studies at New York University under the mentorship of Stefon Harris

A versatile performer and composer, Mark Duggan has been active in multiple musical genres for over 40 years. Based in Toronto, Canada, Duggan's passionate blend of contemporary percussion idioms has impressed audiences worldwide, ranging from the Tongyeong Music Festival in Korea and Lincoln Center in New York, to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
