Jerome Sabbagh & Greg Tuohey: No Filter

Read "No Filter" reviewed by Neri Pollastri

Joe Martin: Etoilee

Read "Etoilee" reviewed by Peter Hoetjes

Bassist Joe Martin's Etoilee is a family affair, as defined by both his muse and his musicians. The album's title is inspired by his youngest daughter's middle name, which is most likely derived from his wife's Parisian roots. Saxophonist Mark Turner and pianist Kevin Hayes performed on Martin's debut album Passage (Fresh Sound New Talent, 2004), ...

Marta Sanchez: Danza Imposible

Read "Danza Imposible" reviewed by Neri Pollastri

Jerome Sabbagh and Greg Tuohey: No Filter

Read "No Filter" reviewed by Peter Hoetjes

So much regard is given to audio quality in the 21st century that there has become something of an obsession with “purity." As co-band leaders, Jerome Sabbagh and Greg Tuohey resolved to attain this quality on No Filter by recording the album ...

Jerome Sabbagh, Simon Jermyn, Allison Miller: Lean

Read "Lean" reviewed by Vincenzo Roggero

Allison Miller & Honey Ear Trio: Lean; Swivel

Read "Allison Miller & Honey Ear Trio: Lean; Swivel" reviewed by Doug Collette

Alison Miller may well be the renaissance woman of modern jazz. High-profile mainstream gigs like appearing with the band on Late Night with Seth Myers hardly hint at the diverse complexity of her collaborations and work under own name, most conspicuously including the band Boom Tic Boom. She parses out individual components of her artistry with ...

Available October 7, 2016 on Chandra Records U.S. Tour Dates: October 18 through November 9 “Slocum served the music with a focus on dynamic micro-detail, which in turn allowed his musicians to say even more.
