Tim Chernikoff is a Jazz pianist originally from Palo Alto, California. His style integrates the jazz tradition with a fresh approach drawing from the styles of inspirations such as Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett and current artists such as Robert Glasper, Aaron Parks and Taylor Eigsti. He started learning exclusively from a classical approach at age 6, until high school when he started playing in the jazz band. Around that time, he was inspired by his older brother to learn how to play music from an improvisational, collaborative approach. Also being inspired by local musicians such as Eigsti and the many artists he encountered while attending the Stanford Jazz Workshop, he studied jazz throughout High School, learning from a local teacher named Bill Susmann
