Dan Marschak

L.A.-based composer and pianist with a soulful and modern sound.

About Me

At 24, Dan Marschak maintains an active schedule as a pianist, composer, arranger, and teacher. He resides in Los Angeles, and in addition to his own groups, he has performed and composed for many respected artists - including Kalil Wilson, Dr. Bobby Rodriguez, The Elliot Deutsch Big Band, Hitomi Oba, and the UCLA Contemporary Large Ensemble (under the direction of icons Kenny Burrell and James Newton). Dan is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Composition at UCLA (where he earned Bachelor’s degrees in both Jazz Studies and Composition). 2010 saw the release of his debut album Likewise, which has been called “adventurous” and “well developed” by film and jazz legend Lalo Schifrin. The album explores an array of genres, instrumentations, and textures, and includes a number of original compositions that demonstrate his personal style.
