Matt Nowlin has led, composed for, or performed with several groups, ranging from small group jazz and big band swing to hip hop and folk. His favorite musical personalities are without a a doubt Paul Simon, Neil Young, Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Ravel, Jimmie Lunceford, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Thelonius Monk. He may or may not name is soon to be born child after Thelonius Monk.
