About Me

'Dox Records, not just records!' Dox Records is a record label, bookingsagency and takes care of publishing. Dox Records is also a production company for jam sessions, musical battles, and many other projects. Founded in 1997 by members of the band Sfeq, Dox was intended to provide an alternative musical resource in the Dutch record industry. The name 'Dox' comes from the ancient Greek, Doxa, which means 'idea', or 'opinion'. Dox is a platform for bands and projects that are rooted in improvised music and free format experimentation. The Dox Artists are versatile in their musical talent, involved in a myriad of projects, and are committed and visionary musicians. Therefore, the Dox artist may also be a Dox A & R manager, producer, or the instigator of the next Dox project. Dox productions are not pigeon-holed based on traditional musical conventions; the Dox product is the outcome of its own unique process and it deserves its own distinctive form, style and promotion. Dox production is always hip, innovative, and experimental, whilst maintaining an awareness of the jazz tradition. If the emotion is universal, its musical expression is too.
