Soulful jazz singer from the Paris jazz scene captivating audiences with contemporary jazz swing and original compositions.

About Me

Jazz and gospel artist, actress...Margeaux Lampley has lived a number of lives. After obtaining a law degree from Columbia Law School and working for a renowned law firm in New York and then Paris, she left it all to to live the artist’s life in Paris, studying jazz and in no time establishing herself as a featured artist and backup vocalist for various French groups. As part of the duo Sodex, she released two successful singles, including “Move Me”, featured on the soundtrack of French film “De battre mon coeur s’est arrêté” and compilations throughout various parts of the world. She even collaborated with disco legend Edwin Starr on one of his last recordings, “Burns Like Fire”, which she co-wrote and for which she sings backup vocals.

Jazz suits her warm, intimate style and Margeaux can be heard regularly in Paris. In recent years, she has been making a name for herself throughout France and Europe as a solo jazz artist and as a member of various gospel groups. As soprano leader and spokesperson for the 100 Voices of Gospel, she performed as a finalist in Britain's Got Talent.

Her latest album, a jazz hommage to Michael Jackson, is her first with the excellent Rémi Toulon (Piano), Jean-Luc Arramy (Bass) and Vincent Frade (Drums), Michel Feugère (Trumpet) and Olivier Defays (Saxophone).

2008 saw the release of Margeaux's first solo jazz album, « Love for Sale », revisiting classics such as Love for sale and Lady is a tramp. The album also gave us her version of the famed Serge Gainsbourg song, La Javanaise, as well as two of her own compositions, “Buildin’ Walls” and “Still in the mood”, a vibrant fusion of jazz, soul and bossa nova. A second solo album Rain includes 9 original compositions, oscillating between jazz, pop, soul and latin music.

Margeaux also proposes educational jazz concerts and workshops for children.

In addition to music, Margeaux is an accomplished actress, having trained at the Atelier Blanche Salant and the Bilingual Acting Workshop in Paris. She has a recurring role in the UK series The Madame Blanc Mysteries and has appeared in successful films, such as Les Tuches 4 and Aline. As a voiceover and dubbing actress, her voice can be heard in numerous video games, cartoons, commercials, documentaries and other films.

Stay tuned because Margeaux has a lot of new projects coming soon!
