Chuck Stevens

About Me

I am a young jazz guitarist living in New York. I have performed with Tony Reedus, Ralph Peterson, Vic Juris, Dave Stryker, and Mike Ledonne. My website has some recordings of me playing my original music as well as some standards in groups of varying sizes and instrumentations. I attended Rutgers University from '98-'02 and while there I was influenced by such musicians as Stanley Cowell, Vic Juris, Ralph Bowen, and Ralph Peterson. Besides becoming a proficient and creative guitarist, I have been particularly interested in using guitar as a texture instrument and writing for a quartet with saxophonist Jake Sazlo, bassist Matt Clohesy, and drummer Kyle Struve.
