My Jazz Story

I love jazz because I'm moved by the motion, the flow and how it aligns itself with my soul. My dad was a jazz organist and showed me the way. The best show I ever attended was watching my dad hobnob with Sammy Davis Jr., Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson and many others whom he performed with while I was a child. The first jazz record I bought was a few Jimmy Smith albums. I wore them out on a beat up record player my grand father gave me. My advice to new listeners is to listen to it all. Jazz is the root and the different styles are the branches.
