About Me

Known for her ability to sing fast swing and tender, pure-toned ballads, Kimberly discovered jazz through her mother, a former beauty queen and singer who grew up in a tenement off Jackson Street during the heyday of Seattle’s legendary jazz scene in the 1940s. As a child, Kimberly studied piano at Cornish College of the Arts and sang in church choirs, including Kent Stevenson's gospel group, The Urban Rhythm Chorus. More recently, she has studied under Carolyn Graye, Andrienne Wilson, and Karen Olson.

Kimberly is one of three lead vocalists for the popular group, COCOA MARTINI, which took Seattle by storm in its sold-out debut at The Triple Door last December.

She has played with Clarence Acox, Bill Anschell, Overton Berry, Hadley Caliman, Buddy Catlett, Chris Clark, Jeff Cook, Evan Flory-Barnes, Larry Fuller, Jon Goforth, Bob Hammer, Randy Halberstadt, Bernie Jacobs, Karen Kajita, D’Vonne Lewis, Reuel Lubag, Doug Miller, Victor Noriega, Phil Sparks, and Greg Williamson, among others. Her venues include The Triple Door, Tula’s, Egan’s Ballard Jam House, Vertigo Lounge & Grill, Café Campagne, Shoreline Concerts-in-the-Park, The Local Color Art Gallery, The Seattle Athletic Club, and Festival Sundiata.
