Kevin Clark

About Me

Kevin Clark was born and educated in South Africa but has lived most of his life in New Zealand. With university degrees in architecture and music he has a passion for the music of mankind, and has traveled much of the world, exploring and studying its music. This is reflected in his albums of original compositions which draw on the improvised music cultures that are compatible with jazz. Two of his albums have been awarded the New Zealand Music Award “Jazz Album of the Year” (2003 & 2005) and his latest, “Zahara” was a finalist in 2007. Musical work in New Zealand has covered television, radio, jazz festivals, gigs etc, as Musical Director, arranger and band leader.
