My Jazz Story

I was first exposed to jazz hearing Artie Shaw playing clarinet when I was about 7. He's always been a strong influence on my playing and musical style, and I'm working on a project to get a tribute band going. I'm often torn between which instrument to concentrate on - sax or clarinet, so end up doing lots of both! When I wrote my book, The Pro-Sax Companion, back in the late '90s, John Dankworth kindly endorsed it, and used it himself to keep in practice. It's all you need to get to a really top level of playing, and it's also great fun to use as it comes with an accompanying CD with exercises that are complete pieces in themselves.
