My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it's clever in all departments... I was first exposed to jazz listening to a Tommy Dorsey EP in 1964 'Love was blown away on the night wind' was the standout track. ... I met John Scofield at the Brecon Jazz Festival... The best show I ever attended was Loose Tubes at the Barbican. Maria Schneider jazz orchestra is favourite big ensemble. The first jazz record I bought was 'Weather Report-Stormy Weather... My advice to new listeners is to listen to new and old classics so as to start to get the references. Best recent concert-Ensemble Denada at the London Jazz Festival 2012

My Favorites

  1. Gil Evans: The Individualism of Gil Evans
  2. Sun Ra: Piano recital,La Teatro La Fenice,Venezia
  3. Ornette Colman:The Shape of Jazz to come.
