Andrew Nicholson

About Me

My name is Andrew Nicholson, publicist & logistics manager for Brownman Music Inc for Endangered Species Management in New York City handling Canada's multi-award winning jazz trumpet icon BROWNMAN ALI. I replaced Andrew McIntosh in 2011

About Brownman Ali: Born in Trinidad, schooled in NYC and now based out of Toronto, he is heralded as “Canada's preeminent jazz trumpeter” by the New York City's Village Voice and represents the cutting edge of jazz evolution in Canada. He is called “one of the next great voices in the new generation of jazz improvisers” by his former teacher and mentor, Randy Brecker.

Before I was a publicist, I was - and still am - an avid fan of jazz trumpet players. Louis, Miles, Clifford, Diz, Thad, Chet, Lee, Freddie, Woody, Art, Blue - love them all, but am always looking for the newer and next generation of those trying to evolve the artform. Like Nicholas Payton, Roy Hargrove, Brownman Ali, Jason Palmer, Jim Rotondi, Alex Sipiagin, Cuong Vu, Scott Wendholt...

My Jazz Story

My grandfather loved jazz, Duke Ellington especially, so I grew up with a lot in the house.
