ANNA REJDA - jazz vocalist, songwriter and improviser
About Me
Polish jazz vocalist, songwriter and improviser, Anna Rejda’s music features a sensual timbre of
voice, impeccable phrasing and atmospheric sounds featuring instrumental arrangements.
Rejda played the accordion and French horn as a child, but decided that playing in a symphony
orchestra was not her vocation. Studying the horn at the Academy of Music in Wroclaw, she was
quickly appreciated for her natural vocal talent and passion for jazz, which she uses in her
cooperation with Aleksander Mazur's Big Band and The Sound Office quartet.
These experiences motivated her to build her own vocal workshop and use her jazz studies at the
Katowice Academy of Music.
Rejda's music is characterized by a certain scope, impeccable timing and the ability to imbue each
song with depth and meaning. Her repertoire features casual jazz, lesser-known gems from the
American Songbook.
Despite her passion for traditional jazz, Rejda is constantly looking for new challenges to broaden her
musical horizons. This trait drives her to delve into new genres such as electro swing and bossa
nova.
Her main instrument is her voice, Rejda is a multi-talented musician, she plays the French horn,
accordion and piano. Inspired by jazz artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Horn, Diane Reeves and
Kurt Elling, she uses the power of improvisation and materials to deliver positive messages.
