Mimi Snider

"one of the freshest jazz voices on the Canadian Scene. Her debut CD captures her distinctive and swinging sound covering seldom-heard tunes by Randy Weston, Horace Silver, and others" (Vancouver International Jazz Festival)

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it gives me a feeling of home and a sense of freedom. I was first exposed to jazz as a young child, listening to records played by my parents at home. The best show I ever attended was...there were many, but the concert that turned my complete attention towards jazz was the trio concert led by Joe Lovano, with George Mraz and Louis Nash in St. Miguel, Azores. The first jazz record I bought was when I was in high school - Benny Goodman. My request to new listeners: please support jazz.
