About Me

Music has always been a part of my life.It has helped me through tough times and good, but photographing the musicians in it have been the best of all

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because of the freedom and discipline that it gives you. I was first exposed to jazz from a college professor who brought me out to a local jam session. I met Gilbert Castellanos and began photographing all his endeavors here in San Diego and Los Angeles. The best show I ever attended was the Clayton Brothers at TSRI with Eric Reed on piano. The first jazz record I bought was Miles Davis live at Carnegie Hall. My advice to new listeners is be patient and have an open mind.

My Favorites

  1. Lee Morgan - Gigolo
  2. Freddie- Hubbard Red Clay
  3. Getz, Gilberto- Au Go Go
