Jazz Loooooover!

About Me

I'm a native Detroiter transplanted to Memphis and residing there for the last 10 years. Visiting Detroit to handle family affairs and was asked to create and contribute some written pieces for the Detroit Native Sun Newspapers Entertainment Section and create a Jazz History Show for their newly minted radio division. I considered myself immensely blessed and gladly obliged.

I'm a serial entrepreneur by choice and love assisting other micro & small business owners to jump into the fray of freelancing as well. The opportunity to offer pieces to the paper, and do the radio show also enhances other small business owners with opportunities as well.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because... it is the rhythms that unravel the soul. My love of jazz developed from childhood and listening to my dads' recordings of jazz musicians and it's stayed with me throughout my life. It's something that I have passed on to my kids and hopefully, will pass on to the grands. Jazz allows me to set my mind free when I compose pieces of poetry. It's that motivational sound that I had been missing since living in TN for the last 10 years. Blues is ok, but it ain't Jazz, and when I came back to Detroit to visit, was one of the first things I wanted to do. Hear some jazz. Fellow jazz lovers can join me on my upcoming Jazz Appreciation Radio Show; the Quintessential Jazzicist starting August 21st at 9pm/8cst (simulcast in Memphis!) on One World Media Radio/Tunein. We'll be exploring the Artistry, History, and Sound of some of the greatest tunesmiths around. .
