Marco Chelo

Marco is the co-director of the New York Jazz Workshop.

About Me

Born In Milan and raised in Rome, Marco moved to New York in 1995. Marco's eclectic backgorund includes extensive travel to many countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, The Caribbean and South America. As a musician and music lover Marco Chelo has studied with, played, and collaborated in various projects with international Musicians such as Fela Kuti. Marc Mommaaas, Mike Longo, Clifford Jordan, Joe Solomon, Makane Kouyate and many others. In 2009 Marc Mommaas and Marco Chelo founded the New York Jazz Workshop, an organization dedicated to promoting affordable jazz education in New York City.
