The Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center is an award-winning, cultural hub in historic downtown West Chester bringing world class entertainment to our community. Acting as a home for live performance, film, and education, Uptown! is bringing new life and vibrancy to the thriving West Chester area.

Established in 2017, Uptown! offers Broadway style theater, opera, jazz, comedy, classical and contemporary music, film and renowned speakers, not to mention our award winning performing arts education classes and workshops for youth and adults. Specifically, our monthly jazz program, The Jazz Cocktail Hour hosted by Sara Michaels, offers a wonderful and diverse roster of national and international talent to perform jazz, in its many forms, throughout the year. Always a crowd pleaser, the program has earned a reputation for offering some of the best jazz in Chester County.

Through our programming and outreach efforts, Uptown! has become a special gathering place in the community, reflecting the demographic and cultural diversity of our region.
