About Me

Linley is a Doctor of Jazz Performance and professional trumpet player and educator who has been performing for over thirty years. He is an active part of the Irish jazz scene and has recorded 5 albums as an artist: Up to Now (2001) Taylor Made (2011) In Transition (2014) Making Other Arrangements (2017) For the Record (2020)

He is in the process of getting ready to record his 6th studio album with band Adam Nussbaum (drums), Mark Egan (bass), Cian Boylan (piano), Derek DOC O'Connor (tenor sax) and is going on tour in Ireland with the band in 2022. Linley hosts the BBC Radio Show Jazzworld with Linley Hamilton every Saturday evening 9pm on BBC Radio Ulster. He is also a university Lecturer in Music at Ulster University and specialises in research related to dynamic contouring as a partner for tension and release. As curator at Magy's Farm, he has hosted gigs by Ari Hoenig, Tom Ollendorff, Seamus Blake, Bill Carrothers, Jim Beard and Jon Herington, Paul Dunlea with Steve Hamilton, John Donegan, Paul Booth among others.
