About Me

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it is considered to be America's Classical Music. It was originated here in this country predominately by black musicians. I was introduced to this musical form in the 1950's while still in high school and have been hooked on it ever since my first encounter. I studied music and have a BA, MM,and a DMA. I am a retired Professor Emeritus of Jazz Studies and now devote all of my time creating and performing this wonderful music. I currently perform with my jazz sextet group "CENTERPEACE" around the Austin Texas area and looking to expand my area of performance throughout the country and the world. I'm open to new ideas and help.
