About Me

Tony Thompson (jazz pianist/organist, vocalist & composer) has produced 5 CD’s since establishing jazz record label ‘Tonymanmusic’ in 1999. Forever Charmed, a CD of originals, has been aired frequently on NPR. Original music from Tony’s last CD ( iKnow ) was placed on Fox Network’s popular TV show ‘Fringe’. Thompson’s soulful jazz piano solo arrangements of American popular song and R&B become artfully galvanized by drums and bass in The Tony Thompson Trio. In addition he works as a sideman for jazz titans such as New York trumpeter, Cindy Bradley. Some of his numerous venues include the North Carolina Wine and Jazz Festival, Hartford Jazz Festival, the SC Jazz Festival, and the Fayetteville University Jazz Concert Series. Tony and his Trio (keys or organ, guitar and stand-up bass) can be found Raleigh, NC where he is often joined by percussionist, Debbie Naves, percussionist. Tony and Debbie often collaborate as a duo.

Tony just released in October 2023 his 5th CD entitled 'Tony Thompson Jazz Organ - In Velvet with his trio. The 8 slamming songs 3 of which are originals can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon and others.

Tony is a Craftsman Member of the Piano Technicians Guild, member of the Music Teachers National Association and the AGO American Guild of Organists. My Jazz Story

Music and I are 'one'. My family were musicians so it was inevitable and inborn for me to perform....which I did starting at age 11! Jazz was the genre of my calling so I studied it professionally and am proud to have a sound that one can describe as a 'modern blend of fresh modal Jazz and soulful Blues’. I play solo piano and organ and have proudly created the Tony Thompson Trio +1 which includes piano/organ, bass, percussion and drums. I have produced 5 CD's with the 5 one just released in October 2023 entitled TONY THOMPSON JASS ORGAN - BLUE VELVET!
